Shakib-Tamim-Mushfiqur to head for PSL
Bangladesh National Cricket Team has just returned to Dhaka from Khulna yesterday after their conditioning camp that was followed by the four-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. Overall cricketers passed a hectic period of over three weeks in Khulna and before they move to Chittagong for their second phase of preparation ahead of the Asia Cup T20, they will be provided with a week’s time of rest.
But three cricketers — Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim — will be out of that favour, as they are soon to fly for Dubai to participate in the inaugural season of Pakistan Super League (PSL). While Tamim is all set to take Dubai flight today, Shakib and Mushfiqur will leave tomorrow.
Shakib and Mushfiqur will play for Karachi Kings; Tamim was snapped up by Peshawar Zalmi. Another Bangladesh player Mustafizur Rahman was bought by Lahore Qalanders, but he is most likely to pull out from the lucrative league despite receiving NOC from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), as the board doesn’t want to take any risk with Mustafizur.
The heavily budgeted event will star top Pakistani cricketers, as well as international cricketing talent. It will see five teams participating in it with each team representing a city. The Pakistan Super League league will be held in UAE – At two stadiums in Dubai and Sharjah. The 24 matches will be held between 4th February – 24th February.
